The product MAGNETICS for NX/Simcenter is distributed by Dr. Binde Ingenieure, Design & Engineering GmbH and any interested party can license the program directly from the company.

Maybe you want to discuss about your special simulation problem and you want to see if and how this can be solved with MAGNETICS. We appreciate if you contact us. In many cases we prepare such special examples for our customers. Additionally, we can further use that in an individual training for you.  

The following modules contribute to the MAGNETICS system. Each of these can be licensed separately:

• Magnetics for NX: The solver environment for Siemens Simcenter or NX. It allows setting up the model with CAD preparation, meshing, material properties, physical properties, solution parameters, boundary conditions, loads and constraints. The module allows defining and writing the input file for the different solutions of the solver. Also the capability to postprocess results is included here. Plots, animations, tabular graphs all in Simcenter or NX format can be processed.
• Magnetics Base Solvers: This module contains the executable program that can read solver input files and perform the finite element solution. The possible solution types are Magnetostatics (2D/3D), Magnetodynamic Transient (2D/3D), Magnetodynamic Frequency (2D/3D), DC Conduction Steady Steate (2D/3D), Electrostatic (2D/3D), Electrodynamic Transient (2D/3D) and Electrodynamic Frequency (2D/3D).
• Thermal Solver: Enables thermal simulations with coupled electromagnetic effects. Allows simulations as shown in the Coupled with Thermal tutorial.
• Elasticity Solver: Adds calculations of mechanical stress and deformation. Allows simulations as shown in the Coupled with Elasticity tutorial.
• Motion Solver: Simulation of moving mechanical components. Allows simulations as shown in the Motion & Electrical Machines tutorial.
• HF Solver: This module contains the executable program to perform solutions for high frequency (full wave) problems. Such are Full Wave Transient (2D/3D), Full Wave Frequency (2D/3D), Eigenmodes (2D/3D) and Waveguides.
• PIC Solver: The module contains the solvers for charged particle dynamics. These can be added to the following solutions: Magnetostatic (3D), Magnetodynamic Transient (3D), DC Conduction Steady Steate (3D), Electrostatic (3D), Electrodynamic (3D) and Full Wave Transient (3D).
• Magnetics Master Libraries: This module contains libraries with physical formulations used by the solver. The libraries are partly visible and partly hidden. Although, these libraries are necessary in most cases, it is possible to use MAGNETICS without them, if the advanced user writes and uses his own formulations.

Besides being used in industries, the MAGNETICS solver can also be used effectively in teaching and research at universities. We offer many attractive capabilities for use as a teaching and research tool.

• Unlimited usage of MAGNETICS throughout the university with no restriction on the number of concurrent users, problem sizes and analysis capabilities.
• The MAGNETICS solver can be used to analyze electromagnetic, coupled thermal, coupled elasticity (mechanical) and motion problems.
• The program runs fully integrated in NX / Simcenter and Teamcenter. For these products Siemens provides a university program also. See here for further information.
• The theory and formulations used in MAGNETICS follow closely the material in the Hanser book Simulations with NX / Simcenter 3D (english or german)
• Many tutorials and theory is shipped with the installation package of the software.
• A limited nodes version of the program is provided that can be freely distributed to students to be used on their own personal computers. No password is required to run this special version.

A limited and cost free version of the program is available to try the powerful analysis capabilities of MAGNETICS for NX / Simcenter. It allows to use not more than 10.000 nodes in 3D and 1.000 in 2D-simulations. Smaller size problems and several of the tutorials can be solved with this.

To ensure that the latest version of the program is used, the license expires after two years or earlier, at which time the program can no longer be used. The license can be renewed at no charge by requesting to download the current version. The limited nodes version can be installed and used on as many PCs as you like. We provide only very limited user-support with this version. Also, read the following warranty disclaimer:
