High Frequency
Thanks to the capability of a full wave solver, the analysis of antennas, waveguides or microwave ovens is another application area for electromagnetic simulation with Magnetics for NX/Simcenter. Simulations like that allow finding detailed characteristics.
This waveguide is used to combine the output of two SSPA amplifiers. The interaction between electromagnetic waves with the geometry is studied. An optimal design can be found.

As a general example, the picture shows the model of a microstrip patch antenna and the result of the electric field.
The figure shows the electric field pattern at frequency 2.12 GHz. Left side: without housing, right side: with metal housing and with gaps in the housing. The shielding effect of the housing can easily be seen: Outside the housing, the field is much smaller.
