Team

The development team of the MAGNETICS for NX/Simcenter program consist of the three different parties Dr. Binde Engineers, the scientists of the University of Liège and Siemens PLM. These parties and their areas of responsibility are introduced on the following page.

Science Interface

The "Institut Montefiore" is the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Liège. It was founded in 1883 as one of the first schools of electrical engineering in the world. Its mission is to provide high quality education at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to be a leading research center in selected fields of electrical engineering, computer science, and biomedical engineering.

Prof. Christophe Geuzaine, Prof. Patrick Dular and several scientists from this institute, developed the numerical library GetDP, what means "General Environment for the Treatment of Discrete Problems" starting in 1997 and used it extensively for electromagnetic analysis tasks and other disciplines. GetDP is an open source software that is also used by industry and science around the world.

GetDP, in an adapted, proved and extended version, forms the basis for the products 'Magnetics Base Solvers', 'Magnetics HF Solvers' and 'Magnetics Charged Particle Solvers'. Prof. Christophe Geuzaine and Prof. Patrick Dular, in partnership to Dr. Binde Engineers, develop this code starting from 2009. This development is mainly driven by demands from industrial customers and enriched by latest knowledge from science.

Second level support and high skill trainings in electromagnetics and their physics is done through Christophe Geuzaine, Patrick Dular and their scientific co-workers.

Publications showing directions of possible future developments are found on Google scholar and on ORBI, the open repository and bibliography site from the University of Liège.

Simcenter Experts

The company Dr. Binde Ingenieure, Design & Engineering GmbH was founded in 1997 and acts globally as a service and technology partner for customers working with the Siemens NX/Simcenter-system.

Focused on the NX/Simcenter moduls for structural-, thermal-, fluid-, electromagnetic-, MKS-analysis as well as "Teamcenter for Simulation" the company is performing software developments, trainings, consultancies and analysis projects.

Dr. Binde Engineers is developing the product MAGNETICS for NX/Simcenter by the creation of physical numerical libraries for industry specific applications and the integration of them into the NX/Simcenter system. The engineers work hand in hand with the other two partners as well as with the industrial users of this product.

Through this product Dr. Binde Engineers holds the status of a Siemens Solution Partner.

Sales and first level support of this product is done through Dr. Binde Engineers.

Simcenter, Teamcenter

Siemens Digital Industries Software (formerly UGS and then Siemens PLM Software), a Business Unit of the Siemens AG, is a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services with 7 million licensed users and more than 71.000 customers all over the world.

Simcenter is a modern simulation environment that leverages Siemens long history of providing world class CAE solutions like I-deas and Nastran. Simcenter delivers all the advanced meshing, boundary conditions and solver interfaces that experienced analysts expect for high-end analysis.

What makes Simcenter unique from all other Pre/Post tools is how it integrates a superior geometry foundation (that provides intuitive geometry editing) and analysis model associativity to multi-CAD data. Integrated multi discipline solvers and multi CAE solver support means you can more efficiently conduct all of your simulations from a single environment and eliminate data translation errors.

MAGNETICS for NX/Simcenter is an Add-On to Simcenter or to NX. It fills the gap for high end and flexible electromagnetic analysis with couplings to thermal, flow and structural inside Simcenter. The MAGNETICS solver is fully integrated in the Simcenter and Teamcenter environment.

Siemens Digital Industries Software is providing special APIs to Dr. Binde Engineers that allow to integrate this third party solver similar to the existing solvers into the Simcenter and Teamcenter systems.
